Christensen, with a delegation of fifteen representatives from Utahn, Duchesne and other towns, met with the Duchesne county commissioners Tuesday to request school bus road that the be built down the Duchesne river instead of over the west bench. They state that the presy ent'' road is hazardous. permits have been granted by Albert Stephenson, Joe Rozell and John R. Davies, farmers owning this property. This road would make the bus service more accessible to 18 students. The farmers have all offered to donate their services. Duchesne city has also offered the use of equipment. The commissioners and delegation made a trip over the route Tuesday, Their findings will be reported later. A new Dodge school bus chassis arrived this week and will be placed in operation next week on the Neola run. The emergency bus has been making this run all fall. Three complete new busses will arrive for the district about Jan. 1. A schedule of activities for the present school year was charted at a meeting of the Region 5 High School Directors Association, held in Price Saturday, Dec. 2, Dates for commercial, speech and music contests were scheduled. The music festival will be held in Price sometime in May. A committee at the meeting went on record as asking that a third basketball team from Region 5 be entered in the state tournament for class B schools. Region 5 includes Uintah, Duchesne, Grand, Emery, San Juan and Carbon counties. Thw inter Administration conference' which includes all county school superintendents, elementary school supervisors and elementary school principals, will be held at the State Capitol building in Salt Lake City, Dec. 14, 15 and 16. six-mi- le Right-of-wa- , " mm The westward trip of a man and his wife from Kathy, Texas was delayed for a few days, and four young chaps from Duchesne received a shaking up as two cars crashed on main street Jhere during the snow storm FOG BOYS 0 Sunday. According to a report from the sheriffs office Bobby Bancroft, Blaine Mecham, Carl Ivie and Harlin Mouler, were attempting to make a U turn at the intersection near the post office, when they were crashed into by a Buick car driven by Ira Sudhard. Both cars were damaged, but all six persons in the two cars escaped without injury. The Sudhards were detained in Duchesne until their car could be repaired and until a full investigation was made of the accident. DANCING CLUB The Dancing club will meet with other LDS stake special interest classes for a stake Square Dance Jamboree Friday, Dec. 8, at the Duchesne stake house. Squares, mixers and rounds will be enjoyed. Every adult in the stake is invited to participate in the dancing, which will be directed by Mrs. Arietta Williams and Mr. Anderson. The dance is under the direction of the stake M.I. A. presidency. CANASTA CLUB A Canasta club was organized recently by a young ladies group at Duchesne.
