Blaine Tanner is spending the holidays with his parents, arriving home Saturday from Logan, where he is attending the U. A. C. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Broome and Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Waugh, attended the funeral of Matt Curry in Vernal Sunday Mr. Curry was owner of the store at Ouray until a few years ago, and was well known by many people of this district, who sincerely mourn his death. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Meranda left Monday on a short business trip to Salt Lake City! They were accompanied by C. T. Beggs and his daughter, Mrs. Harold K. Palmer, who will continue on to Santa Monica, California, where they will spend the winter. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Walker Mr. and Mrs. Byron Brennick and Mrs. Asa Armstrong came in from Salt Lake City Sunday to be with Mr. and Mrs. Jay Smith until after the funeral of Nyra Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Brennick and Mrs. Armstrong attended the funeral Monday and returned home Monday evening, while Mr. and Mrs. Walker remained to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The benefit dance given at the school auditorium Saturday evening was a huge success, bringing out a large crowd for a good cause. The lamb, donated by Well and Harris, was raffled for a tidy sum, being won by Roland Krebs. Roland Krebs and Ray Thompson, left Tuesday morning for Ogden, taking out a load of horses to the market for Mr. Thompson. The official approval of the proposed Myton water project was approval of a 139212, project was received Thursday by Darrl J. Green-wel- l, Utah WPA administrator. Defendant ) Mvton School News The stage is all set and everything is hustle and bustle for the Christmas program to be presented Thursday night The primary grades are carrying the theme of the program. They are putting on in the the operetta, Christmas Circus. The music department of the upper grades is putting on the and cantata. Angelic Tidings, then Santa will finish the program by presenting about four hundred fifty sacks of his goodies. The band will play between numbers. Mr. Wilde represented the Duchesne County Teachers at the local associations meeting in Salt Lake City Saturday. He was accompanied to Salt Lake City by John Hardy Blaine, Mrs. Wilde, and Miss Ward. Miss Ward went on to Preston to visit with relatives. The girls glee club sang two numbers at the funeral of Nyra Smith Monday. The school is glad to assist on occasions where they are needed. The new horizontal bars made by Mr. Frederickson were placed on the little folks play ground Friday, making a desirable addition to our play ground equipment. Members of the student body and partners and members of the Junior High enjoyed a very pleasant evening Friday night in the third party of the season. The Drama Club presented the one act play, The Man in The Derby Hat. The boys basketball team played the Myton boys of the tenth grade. The Myton Boys played a very good game but lost. The girls played the lady teachers and won their game. Dancing completed the rest of the evening, Peanuts were served as refreshmnts. The eighth grade civics class completed an interesting project in the study of the Constitution. ' The American Legion is sponsoring an essay contest in the ninth grade on Americanism, The details and prizes are to be announced later.
