Show Friday, THE BOX ELDER NEWS. Semi Weekly PAGE FOUR acgcbj Nuptial Event Took Place Tuesday Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Cora Forsgren, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Forsgren of Howell, and Frank Stevens, son of Mrs. Emma J. Stevens of this city. The marriage was performed on Tuesday in Ogden. The bride is a former student of the local high school and a graduate of the Bear River high school. She has many frienis in this city. Mr. Stevens is a Box Elder high school graduate and also a graduate of the U. S. A. Cr He is well known throughout the county, having been a teacher in the Box Elder county schools for several years. Following a short honeymoon trip, Mr. and Mrs. Stevens will make their Mr. where home in Deweyville, Stevens will continue teaching. ' Mrs. Elliott Merrell Hostess to Club A delightfully arranged bridge lun- cheon was given Tuesday evening, by Mrs. Elliott Merrell, in honor of the members of her bridge club and several Invited guests. A delicious luncheon was served at four small tables to the members and the following guests: Mrs. Clair Badge, Mrs. Bud Pett, Mrs. Rex Gleave, Mrs. James Barker, Miss Maxine Merrell, Miss Mary Merrell, Miss Lois Christensen, Miss Helen Jensen and Miss Joy Jensen. Following the evenings bridge games, Mrs. Veronus Jensen received' the high score prize and Mrs. Edward Ward drew the cut favor. j j Relief Society Gives Farewell Party The women of the Fifth ward Relief Society tendered Mrs. Mary a farewell party on Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Cleofa Jensen. The afternoon was spent in singing, reading and social chat. Refreshments were served to forty-tw- o guests present. The honored guest was presented a purse in recognition of her long and faithful service as a Relief Society teacher. Mrs. Koford will leave Saturday for Casper, Wyoming, where she will make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Marie Emmel and family. I. Ko-fo- rd Associated Utah Clubs Will Meet Sept. 1st The Northern District of Associated will meet in annual convention at Fielding, Utah, Friday, September 1st, at 10 a. m. A splendid program has been arranged. At the afternoon session, Mark II. Greene will be the speaker and wUl explain the NRA andjvhat club women can do to help the cause along. Mcsic will be furnished by the different clubs, and Mrs. 0. A. Garff, of Logan, will read a play. A good attendance Is desired from all clubs of Brigham City and the towns north. Clubs of Utah ' m Employees of Penney Store Enjoy Party ; The employees of the J. C. Penney company of this city, and their partners, enjoyed a pleasant swimming party on Wednesday evening at the Crystal Springs, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Dredge, who were recently married. After a refreshing plunge in the water, a delicious luncheon was served to about twenty-fiv- e people present. The remainder of the evening was spent in dancing. i Healthy Homemakers Met On Thursday The Healthy Homemakers club held their meeting at the home of Kathleen Reese on Thursday.
