LOS ANGELES, Calif. On mark! Get set! Go!" Shattering all records trom the standpoint of both participation and attendance, the entire amateur athletic world, figuratively speaking, is on its mark, awaiting the opening gun in the 1932 Olympic Games to be celebrated in Los Angeles from July 30th to August 14th, inclusive. Upwards of 2,000 athletes are quar tered in Olympic Village, where they are undergoing their final period of to intensive training preparatory what promises to be the greatest carnival in the history of amateur sports. The approach to the village is a riot of color and activity. Flags of every design and hue snap to the brisk ocean breeze, which sweeps over Baldwin Hills, as streams of athletes pour in and out of the village. In this community of champions are athletes from every nook and cranny of the earth. Some are blond giants from the Nordic countries. Others are little brown men from Nippon. They are small in stature, but giants in their feats on the athletic field. There are also the blacks and the yellows and the whites who come from way down under. With the opening of the worlds greatest international amateur athletic celebration at hand, the nine different 6tadiums, auditoriums and water courses have been given their final inspection: equipment is on the ground, and facilities have been provided for seating approximately 400,-- j 000 spectators daily. Every incoming train and steamship is pouring its quota of Olympic visitors into the city until Los Angeles already is beginning to wonder how it will accommodate the additional throngs scheduled to arrive ' while the Games are in progress. With tickets to the Games selling !at the lowest prices ever offered for a major sports event, prospects are that there will be a complete sellout of seats to practically all of the oustanding programs, according to jjohn F. Mackenzie, manager of the Olympic Games ticket department. the Our stores will have it for sale all day Saturday at 7c per bottle. Put Becco on your list. Professor George B. Caine head of the dairy department, announces that they have much valuable information to give out to our dairymen. The program will begin at 10:30 a. m. out at the dairy experiment farm one and miles due north of the college proper. It is planned to go over five or six years of work on feedifig and handling of dairy cattle in various ways. After this visit the crowd will go back to the college about 1 oclock, where lunch will be had. In the afternoon an outdoor meeting will be held, with Dr. Madsen discussing abortion problems; Professor Morris, clean milk production; and President E. G. Peterson, general dairy subjects. Director Wm. Peterson will be in charge. We shall be happy if all dairymen who can, will take advantage of this days work. Judge Cage of New Orleans believes in a moratorium on alimony as well as on other war debts. When George Eitmann appeared before him and declared he could not pay his divorced wife $35 a month because he was out of work, the judge reduced the payments to one cent a month until Eitmann gets a job. one-ha- lf ROBERT H.
