Mrs. Beulah Nebeker of Willard left Wednesday for a three weeks trip to Los AngeleB, and San Diego, California. Mrs. George W. Slamm of Billings, Montana, is visiting relatives and friends in Brigham City. Mrs. Slamm was formerly Miss Mable Stauffer. Miss Barbara Clawson of Salt Lake is spending a two weeks vacation in this city visiting with Miss Fay Roberts. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Woodworth and children Gladys and Dick, returned to their home in Hollywood, California, after a pleasant visit In this city with relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Deverell Peterson of this city, left Thursday morning for a two weeks vacation trip to Yellowstone National Park. Mr. and Mrs. Ford Jacobsen and baby of Salt Lake City are visiting a few days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Josephson and family in this city. Alfred Whitaker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Whitaker, underwent an operation for appendicitis Monday at a local hospital, and is getting along splendidly. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Jensen of this city, returned Wednesday evening from a trip to Bear Lake. They found It much cooler there than in this city and enjoyed their outing immensely. In giving the names of the survivors of Heber Bott, in our last issue, the name of a sister to the deceased, Mrs.. Charles Burt of this city, did hot appear, as our informant failed to give us her name. Messrs. Will Gidney and George Rumrill of San Diego, California, stopped off in Brigham City last Wednesday from a trip to Arizona, Colorado and Wyoming. They are employed with the H. H. Peterson Construction company of San Diego. Mr. Gidney is a former resident of this city and during their stay here, called on many of his old friends who were pleased to see him again. Benjamin Lillywhite of Salt Lake City is visiting in Brigham City with his son, John Lllywhite and family and other relatives. Mrs. Richard J. Barry and sons Richard and .Billie returned Tuesday to their home in Alameda, California, after spending seven weeks here at the home of Mrs. Barrys parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jenson. Mrs. Kate Ottoman and daughter, Florence, of Brooklyn, N. Y Mrs. Mary Peterson of Ogden, Mrs. Nora Hammond of Moreland, Idaho and Mrs. Joseph Sorenson of Rexburg, Idaho, visited Wednesday and Thursday with their cousin, Mrs. George Facer and family. Fifty Relief Society temple workers, in two buses, from the Eighth ward in Salt Lake City, stopped for a short time in this city Wednesday morning. They were enroute to the Logan temple. This group has visited all of the L. D. S. temples except the one at Hawaii, which they expect to visit next season. The officers and teachers of thd First ward Sunday school enjoyed a pleasant party at Willomere Tuesday evening. A most delicious dinner was served to about 50 guests seated at one long table decorated with bouquets of various colored flowers. Following dinner, a large bonfire was built and an interesting program was carried out. H. SUBSCRIBE FOR THE NEWS Clara Ralphs Laid At Rest Last Wednesday Funeral services for Clara Ralphs, former Brigham City girl, who died at American Falls, Idaho, last Sunday, were held Wednesday at 2 p. m. at the Third ward chapel. There was a good attendance and a wealth of floral tributes. Bishop J, Frank Bowring presided. Singing was furnished by Daisy and Sevena Madsen, with a violin solo by Miss Ann Pearson. The speakers were Patriarch John D. Peters, Nels Madsen, John E. Baird and Bishop Bowring. Invocation was offered by Wilford Reeder and Ephraim M. Johnson pronounced the benediction. Interment was inf the city cemetery. Ephraim Ralphs of Rockland, Idaho, father of the deceased, dedicated the grave. FRIDAY, Semi-Week- ly social ms OF THE WEEK Mrs. Osey Jensen of Bear River City entertained at a dancing party Thursday evening!, July 23rd, at the ward amusement hall, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Jensen, who were recently married. The hall was beautifully decorated with large floor baskets of flowers, and a green and white color scheme! was carried out. Refreshments were served to about 250 guests.
