When You Eat The recent accident in Sardine canyon, in which two young men of this community lost their lives and jjthree others were severely injured when the car in which they were riding ran off the dugway and plunged down the embankment about 200 feet, again emphasizes the need bf more guard rails along the outer side of the highway. More regulation guard rails, which are placed on almost all of the highways where there is danger of cars running off, would greatly eliminate the imminent danger to autoists who travel this highway by the hundreds every day. In the home, in manufacturing industries, on railroads, on the farm there is hardly a field where abundant electric power cannot lead to better standards of pro duction, higher standards of living and more stable employment. For this .reason it is the more amazing that the electric industry has been singled out for attack. Strenuous efforts have been made to1 boom power as a political issue, 4n the face of the fact that the industry, in practically every state, is under official supervision, and has made an unequaled record in lowering its rates to the public and in improving its) great service. It is granted that the electric in For that dustry is "big business. reason it has to be a good business. Size was necessary to make modern widespread service possible. When the Inadequate local plant, charging high rates and giving inferior service, gave way to great Interconnected systems, the electric age began. J.
