Murphy, of the International Smelting company of Salt Lake City, were in Brigham on Saturday, guests of Mr. and Mbs. C. E. Baker. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Merrell, and Miss Florence Knudson of this city and Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Livingston of Los Angeles, left this morning for a few day's fishing trip to Wyoming. Mrs. Elijah Tams of Willard, underwent an operation for appendicitis this morning at a local hospital. She is reported to be getting along favorably at this writing. Miss Alice Alvord, who is taking a nurses training course at the Holy Cross hospital in Salt Lake City, spent Saturday and Sunday visiting her mother, Mrs. Lana J. Alvord in this city. Mrs. Lorenzo Hansen of Preston, Idaho, Mrs. Lucius Laudie of Ogden, John Halliday of Pleasant Grove and Mrs. E. J. Webb of Downey, Idaho, were week-en- d guests of Mrs. M. G. Hansen. Mr. and Mrs. Irving J. Wight of this city, announce the arrival of a fine baby boy born Monday morning. Mother and babe are getting along nicely. Mrs. W'ight was formerly Miss Ruth Haws. Hon. and Mrs. L. K. Higginbotham of Woodbine, Georgia, who attended our Peach Day last year as guests of Mr. and Mrs. George J. By arrangement, Mr. Baird will remain here for a time and make a local comedy picture, In which Miss Florence Anderson, as Miss Utah, will play the leading part.
