Now it is possible to reduce the levy 8.7 mills and get it down to 10 mills, a levy that is really low for a city the size of Brigham City. And with this reduction in taxes, the city will still have a surplus of $28,340.83, which will provide a fund sufficiently large to ttfke care of the expense of rebuilding the street lighting system and curb and gutter Main street from Fifth south to Second north streets, which is some achievement A careful study of the budget reveals some very interesting facts. the as-;se- lj Cash on Hand Less Outstanding If a corporation finds that, for good and sufficient reason, it is impossible to complete Its return by March 15, 1 It may make a return of the estimated tax due and make payment thereof not later than March 15. If meritorious reason is Bhown as to why the corporation Is unable to complete Its return by the specified date, the Collector will accept the payment of the estimated tax and agree to accept tho revised and completed tax return within a period not more than 45 days. Under the plan adopted for corporation payments and returns, the will be able to collect approximately the amount of tax due on or before March 15, thus meeting Its urgent needs; and corporations actually requiring further time for the preparation of their complete returns will be granted ample time in which to do so. One of the advantages of this plan la that It relieves the taxpayer of one-haof one precent interest per month that would attach to the payment of 1919. 800.07 346.93 $ Warrants $2; 453.14 Uncollected Taxes, 1918 General Taxes, 1918, based on assessed valuation of $2,378.45 at 10 mills less $749.33 uncollectible .. 2 Irrigation Tax Water Rates Electric Light Assessment Fines .'
