R. McKean for appointment upon the interstate commerce commission to President Harding and Senators George Norris ' of Nebraska and Reed Smoot and William H. King of Utah. Mr. McKean la a member of the engineers' organisation and was at one time with the Union Pacific company aa master mechanic. He is now president wf the McKean Motor company. President B. W. Matteson, of the chapter, a personal friend of Mr. McKean, said that more than a year ago President Harding, then senator, said that 'he favored the appointment of a good engineer as a member of the Interstate com-- , ' merce commission.
