Show FISH AND GAME HIGHLIGHTS Angling regulation for Strawberry Straw-berry Reservoir will be liberalized June 28, to allow fishing 24 hour each day witli no restriction on the number of game fish an angler may catch and possess. Bait and other regulations will remain unchanged at Strawberry and those liberalized affect only this water. Department of fish and game spokesmen said the changes in regulations re-gulations covering this major fishing fish-ing lake were made to allow the greatest possible catch of trout dur-i"tj dur-i"tj the weeks of summer ahead. The decision was based chiefly upon up-on two reasons, both a direct result of the most critical water table in more than twenty-five years. They were listed as the probable loss of trout during the late summer sum-mer and the present plan to rehabilitate re-habilitate the lake by chemical treatment later in the year. The planting by plune of more than 200 off the road high country Utah lakes will get underway this week, according to department officials. of-ficials. First plants to be made will be in southern ranges of the state where seasonal conditions are advanced compared to some ranges in northern north-ern Utah. These annual plants, made by department pilots and plane equipped equip-ped with special tanks for this aerial aer-ial stocking program, have proven highly successful over the past five years since this method replaced the slower, more costly planting procedure of earlier years when the small fish were carried to these waters by pack trains. |
