Show JORDAN DISTRICT RAISES BUDGET FOR NEXT YEAR A 1961-62 school budget totaling total-ing $6,137,521 was adopted by the Jordan School District Board of Education at its meeting following a public hearing held Wednesday it was reported from the office of Supt. Reed II. Beckst end. The budget provides $4,546,001 for maintenance and operation of schools plus $1,591,520 for the building reserve fund. 1 he figure is an increase of $265,849 over last year's operating budget, the increase being largely I due to the district unit set up by the recent state legislature, it was reported. Broken down into ten categories, the expenditures are as follows: general control, $77,900; instruction, instruc-tion, $3,261,275; coordinate activities, activi-ties, $75,000; transportation, $162,-000; $162,-000; operation of school plants, $372,250; maintenance of school plants, $139,950; fixed charges, $285,900; capital outlay, $148,026; debt service $7,500, and South Park Academy, $16,200. |
