The festival has been scheduled for the November 0 weekend, because DWR biologists will have completed their aerial bighorn sheep surveys by that time. This will help biologists locate sheep for festival participants. Another reason for the late November scheduling is the fact that bighorn sheep are in the rut at that time. Bighorn rams seek out ewes for breeding and eng gage other rams in and other ritual showmanship. This makes for exciting of honesty, dignity & respect. If the developer builds this it will be on our property and end up costing the county a lot more down the road, Henderson said. Thats because SITLA is willing to pay 50 percent of the cost, if the county picks up the other 50 percent, Henderson said- - Who will pay to build the road is also up for negotiation. Then SITLA will have access to its land when it is developed. I dont understand why the county is paying for this at all, said council member Joette Langianese. The most value for us is the intersection, not the road, Henderson told the council. The road actually encumbers $150,000 worth of land. For all intents and purposes, this is a facility built for SITLA and Rim Village, added Council member Judy Carmichael. Carmichael later aknowledged that the road would also benefit the county for safety reasons and due to its proximity to the Spanish Trail Arena. Henderson was told again during a County Planning Commission meeting later the same day that the issue of funding and easements must be resolved before he can go further in the permitting process. It will be set for discussion later this month before the County Council for a funding agreement and the Planning Commission for a permit Call 259-566- 4 Fast, friendly service ...
