State HistoryUtah State Historical Society will host a special exhibit featuring the work of Utahs brightest young historians. Winning exhibits from the recent State History Fair will be on display, representing the efforts of students from around the state. These outstanding young people, grades competed against 100 other regional winners in the ex2, hibit category and were judged the best in the state. They then competed in the national competition held in Washington, D.C. The students addressed 3HEORTOA. BEST ON EARTH the theme Exploration, Encounter, and Exchange in History. The exhibits cover n such topics as Utahs 1881 Battle of Pinhook Draw by Drew Cozzens of Moab, gender roles in the Civil War, and little-know- Shackletons Endurance expedition. Students chose their own topics, did original research, and developed their exhibits as part of the Utah History Fair program.
