Show July 13, 2000 unit by Master Sgt. Terri Castro 75th Logistics Group The Mobility Element of the 75th Logistics Group Supply Division is responsible for maintaining Chemical Warfare Defense Ensemble equipment. Hopefully you will never have to use it but if you do, rest assured that it is serviceable and ready for immediate use. The protective support equipment is maintained in a ready-to-us- e state. Each individual assigned to a mobility position and Unit Type Code is attached to one of these bags. There are more than 12,000 General Purpose (A), Extreme Cold Weather (B), and Chemical Warfare Defense Ensemble (C-l- ) bags to support three major commands occupying Hill AFB. The element has over 28,000 square feet of storage space in Bldg. 830 and approximately 9,100 in Bldg. 900 to house these assets. There are 11 people assigned to maintain accountability of all items. Keeping the bags in a ready-to-g- o configuration requires diligence and attention to detail. Assigned personnel are required to validate all 1 mobility bags weekly. The bags are checked for shelf life items that may have expired and to remove items based on messages from command headquarters. The location and name of each individual assigned a bag is checked weekly fof accuracy. Each command has its on section that is broken down into squadrons. An individual assigned to each squadron is required to maintain the integrity of each bag and its contents. Now that the l mobility bags have been relocated to Bldg. 900, many problems will be eliminated by having the bags closer to the mobility processing line. In early June a n team of Supply Division volunteers worked together to assemble new open-fac- e bins to hold all of the l bags. These people built 538 units, capable of holding 10 bags each, life-sustaini- A ng C-- non-complian- ce AFBs mobility processing procedures.
