Sept. 29, 1994 The Allen Memorial Hospital Board announced it had reached an impasse in negotiations with HealthTrust Incorporated on a contract to manage the hospital here. The board announced that it was seriously looking for another company to operate the facility. Despite objections from landowners, developers and others, the Grand County Council voted to pass a new subdivision ordinance that places more responsibility on developers before new lots can be approved. The 2nd Annual Air Affair air show was planned at Canyonlands Airport. Oct. 6, 1994 Emery County officials met in Moab to request that the Elgin portion of Green River be annexed into Emery County. The College of Eastern Utahs construction trades program was off to a good start, with work progressing on a home on Jefferson Street. A rare tornado touched down in Fisher Valley, narrowly missing ranch buildings in the valley. Oct. 13, 1994 The Moab City Council voted to pursue a funding plan to finance improvements at the sewage treatment plant and to build a new sewer line for the northeast part of town. The work on the plant was estimated to cost $2.4 million for the plant, and $500,900 for the line extension.
