Show KIDS PAGE Misty Kimsey R i y mom calls me a bulldog." She says that when I get hold of an idea thats important to me, never let it go until I get my way. But because I'm like that, my whole family was saved from a fire. Right before Halloween last year, my school learned about fire safety. They told us how important it is to have smoke detectors in our houses. Then we saw a movie about what I happens in a fire. It was really scary. When I got home from school, I begged my parents to get a smoke detector. Finally one day. over a week later, they got one and put it in our house That very night, a fire sun ed in our laundry room. My whole family was asleep. But luckily my dad heard the alarm going off in the living room. My dad woke up my mom and then ran to me and my sisters room. He yanked me out of bed because I couldnt wake up. He thought my sister Noel was right behind us, but she went back to sleep. So he had to run back and get her too. There was fire and smoke everywhere. The whole neighborhood was outside watching, but my dad made me and my sister go across the street to our neighbors house. A little while later, the fire department came. The flames kept going, even until the morning. Our house was all black and burned. The only thing left was a glass I had forgot to bring inside a week before. I told everybody at school what happened. Nobody really thought it would happen to one of us. Now I tell all the REAL FERES ARE DARK. You won't be able to breathe and you cant see anything. REAL FIRES ARE DANGEROUS. No matter how small. If you see a fire, get out and tell an adult.
