The RP had no evidence of the crime, just that his wife told him so. The case is . . . Activities of a Busy Moah City Police Department The Moab Police Department handled 71 incidents and 2 traffic accidents over the past week. The animal control officer dealt with 20 animal complaints. An officer took a report of a criminal mischief in the area of the Visitor's Center downtown. The RP (Reporting Party) advised that somebody had taken a section of fence down between the Visitor's Center and the Western Plaa It appears as though there is some kind y of disagreement in the area Speaking ot criminal mischief two reports of graffiti were taken Two businesses advised that the back walls of buildings had been adorned with words and numbers. I know I've asked, what kind of idiots does it take to do vandalism. The answer still the same; mindless' Yet another criminal mischief report. An east side resident reported gun hearing what sounded like a B-shot. Sometime later it was discovered that not only did the RP hear a B-gun shot, there was a hole 1: right-of-wa- B B ON FIFTH WEST suspended pending leads or whatever. Officers also handled three civil details, an escort, and a citizen assist. Another report of a vehicle with the headlights, shot out by a B-- gun was taken. A report was made concerning two parties arguing over a property issue. Four civil details and a child abuse report were also dealt with. 1 The clerk of a local motel reported an individual that informed the RP that he had followed somebody to town that he was going to kill. An officer located the subject a short while later. The subject was underage and intoxicated. He was provided a place to stay courtesy of the Moab Police Department. An officer responded to the hospital on a report of a subject getting in the way. The investigating officer located the individual in question. He was counting the cracks in the floor. A fight was reported in the area of the high school. Officers found a large group of youths in the area. After sorting out the mess, two male juveniles will be visiting with the juvenile court judge on fighting through a window in the residence. An officer checked with some neighbors. Later the RP called and advised that the culprit had confessed to the offense and agreed to pay for the window. Case closed. A Moab resident reported the theft of a wallet. The RP also advised that the wallet had been left inside a vehicle. Oh, the vehicle was also B unlocked! An escort, an abandoned vehicle, and a theft were also reported. An officer made an attempt to settle a matrimonial problem. The female half of a separated couple wanted the male half to leave her alone. The officer made contact with the individual. I guess we wait and see w hat happens next. An adultery report was received. The RP advised that his wife is having intimate relations with another man, not her husband. The clerk of a local convenience store reported that two juvenile females had been observed in the store acting suspiciously. The RP suspected the pair of shoplifting. The clerk spoke with the mother of one of the girls, advising her of the suspicion. The mother came to the store a short while later with the daughter in hand. The clerk was correct, the two girls had taken thirty seven candy items from the store. The pair was referred to juvenile court. The department was kept busy with a barking dog, a theft, two civil details, a disorderly conduct, a suspicious incident, a fraud, a criminal mischief, and an attempted homicide. A gentleman from New Zealand came to the office and reported that he had lost his wallet in Jackson Hole, Wyoming! An officer responded to a local restaurant on a report of an intoxicated individual. Upon arrival the officer made contact with the subject who advised that he had had way to much to drink. The officer felt as though the individual was correct in his self evaluation. The subject requested to be admitted into the local detox center. The officer advised that there was no such facility in Moab. The subject then requested that he be arrested, he was seeking a place to spend the balance of the night. In order to be provided a place to stay by the police on an intoxication charge, one has to be a danger to himself or others, this guy didn't meet the criteria. The officer was able to arrange a place to stay. The Silver Sage Motel donated a room for the night. A group of juveniles were apprehended on the roof of the high school. Not convinced the kids were seeking higher education, the officer attempted to contact a responsible party unsuccessfully. So the kid received something they hadnt come to school for, a lecture. A west side resident requested extra patrol. Domestic violence is any act which endangers the physical andor locked storage area of a motel. When the owner attempted to retrieve the gun the next day, it was gone. Another spray paint job by our mindless idiots was reported at a local school. A door to a storage unit provided another location for the clowns to paint. A Moab woman reported the theft of her purse. It was taken from the front seat of her unlocked vehicle while she was shopping.
