Show rij jl0 )0r The Festival of the Trees will benefit Utah sick children The twenty-thir- d annual Festival of Trees in behalf of children at Primary Children's Medical Center will open its doors Wednesday, December 1, and continue through Saturday, December 4, 1993. All proceeds from the event will be used to provide charity care for hospitalized children from throughout Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada and Montana. The highlight of the Festival is always the stunning variety of decorated Christmas trees. Trees are decorated and donated by individuals, families, and church, employee, and civic groups. Last year's Festival presented a record 380 trees. The trees are available for purchase by families and businesses for amounts ranging from less than $100 for table-to- p trees to several thousand dollars for large trees included in entire scenes. The Festival also includes a Kids Komer, an area with several low- - cost activities especially for children, and Santa always attends Festival to hear each wish list. The hot scone booth is a favorite destination for many attending Festival. Freshly cooked hot scones are turned out every few minutes, totalling many thousands over the four-da- y event In addition, holiday entertainment is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day, with dozens of school choirs and orchestras on the schedule, along with other singing, dancing, and instrumental groups, including many ethnic and cultural traditions. Everyone is invited to attend the Festival, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, through Saturday, December 4, 1993. Tickets purchased at the door are $3 for adults and $1.75 for children 11 years and younger. brate Veteran's "Festival of Trees is a festive tradition that heralds the beginning of the holiday season for many people," notes Mrs. Brooks. "We invite everyone to come share the wonderful spirit of this unique event. People have a delightful time at Festival and at the same time they know they're helping children at the hospital look forward to a better quality of life.
