Show DATES GIVEN FOR MAILING XMAS GIFTS OVERSEAS Postmaster E. M. Williams of the West Jordan Post Office reports that in order for Christmas surface packages to other . countries to reach their destination by Christmas, Christ-mas, they should be mailed by the following dates: South and Central America, November 10; Europe, November 10; Africa, November I ; Near East, November I ; Far East, October I 5. All air mail parcels to other countries by early December. Mail to Armed Forces and families overseas should be mailed in the period of Nov. I to 20; and air mail parcels between Dec. I to 10. All the above dates refer to greeting greet-ing cards also. All articles should ba packed in boxes of wood, metal, solid fiber-board, fiber-board, or strong double-faced corrugated cor-rugated fiberboard. All fiberboard boxes should be wrapped in heavy paper. Evtry box should be well tied with strong cord. A slip showing show-ing list of contents and addressee should be enclosed in parcel. Forms (if required) should be filled in completely, and customs declaration declara-tion tag, Form 2966, requires that the mailer list the contents showing exact nature, quantity, and value of each article enclosed. General descriptions, such as Christmas gifts, clothing merchandise, are not acceptable. Postmaster Williams said anyone who has any questions or would like more information, may come into the Post Office and they will be happy to oblige. |
