The artists have been exhibiting together for about four years. Their work represents varied styles of painting, the use of different mediums and individual interpretations of each Pioneer Memorial Theatre at 300 S. and 1400 East. The "Group of Nine" includes artists Bevan Chipman, Marian Dunn Sweeney, Carole Evans, Jossy Lownes, Dottie Miles, Woody Renzetti, Steven Willamarie Sheffield, Huelskamp and Sue Valentine. The group of professional painters meet weekly for and offer encouragement to each other. The cafe parking lot critiques can become quite lively as well as educational, according to members. Dottie Miles has a special interest in depicting people in her work. Organizers say she offers the viewer an opportunity to write their own story with each painting. Her work has received awards in Utah, Colorado and Texas.
