NEWARK, NJ. — Kevin Kelly wanted to get a little sun and see his brother in Southern California. Marisa Paradise had been planning her ski trip to Colorado since AuSt. Both found themselves waiting around at Newark International Airport on Sunday along with hundreds of others stymied by the blizzard. The airport closed Saturday morning but reopened to limited service Sunday evening. Many flights were canceled. “By the time I get out of here, I may only have a day and a half of sun," said Kelly, who had five vacation day s. Would-be vacationers — groggy and haggard-looking — sprawled out atop piles of luggage. Many curled up with paperback novels or played cards. One woman slammed a pay phone down and stalked off. saying, “I’ve been here since last night.
