Show YOUNG FAMILY PRESENTS LOT TO STATE PARK COM A lot adjacent to the Brigham Young Winter Home at St. George has been donated to the State and Recreation Commission it was announced an-nounced this week by Aldin Q. Hayward, director. The property, with 76 feet of frontage and 132 feet deep, was donated to the state by the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young Memorial Foundation, a non-profit organization composed compos-ed of descendants of the Utah pio- r- neer and colonizer. Transfer of the property was made by Gordon Young, former Foundation president, on behalf of 3,000 members of the Young fa-milyl fa-milyl In transferring the deed to the commission, Mr. Young said, "I am sure the Young family are going to be as thrilled as I was when I checked on the restoration progress of the Brigham Young home in St. George made by the Park commission. We are pleased to make this added gift to the state.' The Brigham Young winter home at St. George was donated to the commission for restoration as a historic site several years ago by the Brigham Young family. The new lot is east of the home and will be incorporated into the overall development of the grounds and landscaping of the restoration program. Mr. Hayward expressed appreciation appreci-ation to the Memorial Foundation and said the new piece of land would be an asset to the park development de-velopment program. 'i |
