Canadian pianist Louis Lortie will perform join the Utah Symphony for two piano concertos, Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 24 and Ravel's Piano Concerto in G major. Maestro Joseph Silverstein will conduct the concerts, which begin at 8 p.m. in Symphony Hall. Also on the program will be Sibelius' "The Swan of Tuonela" and Ravel's Second Suite from 1 Daphnis et Chloe. Lortie unanimously won first prize at the 1984 Busoni International Music Competition. rt Siverstein will give a lecture at 7:15 p.m. and all concert patrons are invited to attend as the guest conductor gives some insights into the works that will be performed.
