The Dow Jones average of 30 industrials, down 30.18 on Thursday, dropped 4.25 points to 3,242.40 by noon today. Losers outnumbered gainers by about 7 to 5 in nationwide trading of New York Stock Exchange-listed issues, with 621 up, 891 down and 545 unchanged. The Kirby family supports the ad, but most magazines in Britain rejected it, saying it unfairly exploits an emotional and personal issue to sell sweaters and scarves. Company executives said every U.S. magazine they approached accepted the ad. Last year, some publications refused to run one Benetton ad that showed a priest and a nun in religious habits kissing and another d that showed the body of a newborn baby with her umbilical cord attached. Earlier Benetton ads that aroused debate showed a black person's arm handcuffed to a white person's arm, a black woman nursing a white baby and a black youngster with hair shaped like horns hugging an girl.
