Show Saturday, March Judge issues sentences to nine men Friday Nine men were sentenced Friday during 4th District Court action. Hyrum Reid, 30, Nevada, had prison and jail terms suspended on third-degrcharge of forging prescriptions. Judge Boyd L. Park suspended 45 days in jail pending the; successful completion of three years of probation. He was ordered to pay an $800 fine or complete 160 hours of community service, pay $350 in fees, $208.63 in restitution and obtain an evaluation in Nevada unless his current evaluation is found to be appropriate. Brian P. Snelson received a suspended sentence of one year in the county jail on a class A attempted drug possession charge. He will spend three years on probation and must pay $775 in fines and fees, undergo substance abuse counseling and spend 10 days in the county jail on his days off. Gary Bott, 28, 701 S. 1100 West, Provo, was ordered to spend 120 days in the county jail to run concurrent with a sentence in the circuit court. He must pay fines and fees of $625 and have a mental evaluation. He pleaded guilty to a class A attempted possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person and had one year in the county jail suspended. Alvaro B. Gonzales, 29, and Alfred Bud Miller, 22, both of 622 ee E. South, Pleasant Grove, ceived suspended prison sentences of up to five years on drug charges. Gonzales was ordered to spend three years on probation and pay fines and fees totalling $1,150 and spend 60 days in the Utah County jail with credit for nine. The jail time will terminate if immigration deports him. Miller must spend three years on probation, pay fines and fees totalling $775 and have a substance abuse evaluation. He must spend 40 days in the county jail with credit for two and must begin serving that sentence March 29. John Johnson, 22, no address re- 100 third-degre- available, has three concurrent prison sentences of up to five years e suspended on three third-degre- and follow any recommendations. He must also spend 21 days in the county jail with credit for four, within the next 90 days. He was also ordered to have no contact with the victim or her family. Kenny D. Hall, 26, 614 W. 40 North, Orem, also had a prison sentence of up to five years suspended. He had pleaded guilty to a e drug charge. He must spend three years on probation, pay fines and fees of $775 and spend 14 days in the county jail within 90 days. Thompson to spend up e tp five years in prison on the felonies. He had been in a program for mentally ill offenders but had not been successful there. Attorney Donald Elkins asked Park to send Thompson to the state hospital instead. Park said Thompson had been at the hospital and was let out after six months. Harding, and again Elkins asked that Thompson be allowed to enter some program rather than be .sent to prison. Harding said he would give Elkins one week to find a program and then would look at the matter. He said Thompson could remain at the county jail for one week instead of being taken immediately to prison. Elkins said he would be approaching Park again to reconsider a program if he can find one.
