Technoserv, a consortium of 12 businesses recently formed through the Provo Economic Development office and the state, will pool the efforts of the Technoserv members to attract large aerospace contracts to the state. But an investment group has purchased the IGA corner in Heber City for a shopping center, and a manufacturing company has made an offer for the Cloye's property at 700 West and 300 South. Richard F. Nord, president of Fourth Holding Group, Salt Lake City, said his company plans to divide about 16,000 square feet of the IGA building, which are not occupied by the grocery store, for Provo city has spent the last two years developing the Technoserv concept, with Albert Kanahele serving as project coordinator. The State Department of Economic Development has provided $80,000 to assist in development of the project. The businesses will provide manufacturing, sheet metal fabrication and other services with Central Utah Tool serving as the communication center between large aerospace companies and the smaller Technoserv members. "The real impact is going to be when we create jobs and bring business into the state," Kanahele said. "Because it's a pilot project, we hope we can work out all the bugs and be able to develop the philosophy of a Technoserv in to one that's not only meaningful, but also show and demonstrate to people small business can be successful in a collaborative environment." 8 I the corner will be called "Jordanelle Plaza" and the reHe said gion.
