Watercolors now on exhibit Orem Center's weekly dances for all seniors The Orem Friendship Center extends an invitation to all Seniors who wish to attend the weekly Saturday night dance. Participants need not be a resident of Orem. Anyone is invited to come to enjoy the music, come to dance or come and do both. The lively music is provided by Reta Hadlock and her band, p.m. Oil painting classes will begin at the Center Tuesday, March 8. Experience the joy of framing your own original. Classes for beginners, as well as classes for advanced students will be taught by Margaret Ferguson and Lorna Jeff 10 Opinion and news for people in Ceramics; Sit and Stay Fit exercise with Rose; Harmonica band at 11 a.m., and dancing. Thursday The Mildred Eldred Waterco-lo- r Collection will be the new art exhibit on display at the Eldred Center for the month of March. It will be open to the public Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Income tax counseling for the elderly is available for all senior citizens each Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through April 14 at the Eldred Center. No appointment necessary. Rock Hound Holiday Tour is scheduled for April 7 and will include Eureka, Silver City, Delta and much more. The fully guided tour includes two nights lodging, transportations and a box lunch. Those interested should register immediately at the Eldred Center office. He was born Jan. 31, 1898 in Kanosh. As a young man he worked briefly in Nome, Alaska. Shortly after his return he married Lyle Rasmussen of Salina on Feb. 18, 1920. She died in 1978. They had three children, eight grandchildren, 27 greatgrandchildren, and 20 During World War II he worked as a carpenter. He lived in Orem much of his life where he was a fruit farmer. Because the northern hemisphere is gradually warming, March's temperatures won't be as cold as January's, but they'll still be nippy. March's cold pattern will be particularly noticeable from the upper Midwest to the Gulf Coast, with the coolest temperatures occurring in Minnesota, March also will be wetter than normal in New England, the Middle Atlantic states and parts of Ohio and Michigan. In contrast, March should be delightfully warm and dry from the Rockies to the Pacif ic Coast. Rainfall will be skimpy New Mexico, West Texas, parts of Colorado and Kansas, Northern California, Nevada, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
