Show MISS LINDA ABPLANALP IS JUNE BRIDE Mr. and Mrs. George Abplanalp of Copperton this week announced the marriage of their daughter, Miss Linda Abplanalp, to James Sarkady, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Sarkady of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The couple were married Monday, June 12, at Winnemucca, Nev. They are making a temporary home in Salt Lake City. MISS LUCY JANE LOVELL IS BRIDE OF JUNE 23 Miss Lucy Jane Lovell became the bride of Dale Carpenter, a University of Utah student, in Salt Lake Temple rites Friday morning, June 23. Elder Wallace Gailey officiated. of-ficiated. After the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Otto F. Carpenter, Copperton, parents of the bridegroom, hosted a wedding breakfast at Harman's in honor of the couple. The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Max Lovell Lo-vell of Riverton, formerly of Lark. The couple will honeymoon in Bryce and Zion canyons and Las Vegas. They will make a home in Salt Lake City when Mr. Foulger is released from Army duties. Hostesses at prenuptial parties for the bride were Mrs. Lawrence Thatcher, Mrs. Cleo Foulger and Mrs. Sterling Beesley; Mrs. 1. L. Miller, Mrs. William Marsh, Mrs. Denzil Watts Jr., and Mrs. Tory Tobiason; Miss Serre and Miss Yano. Tanner-Smart Wedding Of interest locally was the wedd- ing of Miss Connie Tanner to Robert Ro-bert A. Smart, which took place June 16. Salt Lake LDS Temple was setting for the ceremony. Oquirrh Lodge No. 844, held a regular meeting Monday Mon-day night at the home of Mrs. Sel-ma Sel-ma Bentlwy. The couple are honeymooning at Yellowstone National Park before making a home in Midvale. The bride is a student at Ex-Cel-Cis Beauty School. Nielsen. The Firemen and Auxiliary dinner din-ner group held a conjoint dinner Monday evening. Thirty were in attendance to enjoy the delicious dinner and cards played afterwards. Prizes were won by Mrs. Boyd Anderson An-derson and Mrs. Joe Dispenza for the ladies and Verl Peterson and Robert King for the men. On the committee arranging the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Verio Kendrick, Mr. and Mrs. Anthon O. Jacobson and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Householder, Household-er, Jr. Fire Ladies meet this Monday night, July 3, with Mrs. Marlin Schultz hostess for the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Anderson and children, Shawnie and Mike, spent the day last Thursday at Lagoon. Mrs. Mabel Brimhall spent Tuesday Tues-day visiting with Mrs. Dewey Mayne of Copperton. House guests last week of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Nielsen and boys were Mrs. Glen Thompson and children, Demonc and Melinda, of VISHER-FOULGER WEDDING Wedding rites of local interest were that of Miss Karen N. Visher who became the bride of Gary R. Foulger Tuesday, June 27, in a ceremony at Crestwood Villa. Elder Paul Moore, of the Granite Park LDS Stake presidency, officiated, with a reception following immediately immedi-ately after the rites. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Visher of Murray, former Bingham Canyon residents. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Frank R. Foulger of Salt Lake City. For the nuptial events, the bride wore a floor-length gown of silk organza styled with a bouffant skirt which ft'l into a short train in the back. The molded bodice had long sleeves and sweetheart neckline. Her fingertip veil was caught to a Mt. rleasant. I he INielsons took the visitors home to Mt. Pleasant last week end. Martha Circle met Wednesday of last week as guests of Mrs. Helen Austin of Salt Lake City. A very lovely one o'clock luncheon was enjoyed at the Beau Crummel. After wards members returned to Mrs. Austin's home for a business meeting meet-ing and cards. Prizes at bridge were won by Mrs.. Othelia Barkle, Mrs. Edna Jacobsen, Mrs. Myra Larick and Mrs. Bessie West. Other members mem-bers present were Mrs. Helen Sullenger. Sul-lenger. Mrs. Neva Jensen, Mrs. Margaret DuBois, Mrs. Irene Frazier and Mrs. Catherine Jenkins. Next Circle meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. DuBois in Salt Lake City on July 5th. Wednesday morning, Rev. end Mrs. M. Robert Turner and son, Mike, attended the special showing for ministers of the area, of the movie mo-vie "Face of Christ" at Uptown theater in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Earl T. James of Clearfield, former Bingham residents, resi-dents, were Bingham visitors Wed-Mrs. Wed-Mrs. Maggie Peck is visiting indefinitely in-definitely with her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Stick-ney Stick-ney of Spanish Fork. Visiting tho past week with Mrs. Esther Clays and other relatives has been her son and family, Capt. and Mrs. Paul E. Clays and children, child-ren, Stewart, Deborah, Muriel and L'slie, from Rapid City, So. Dak. The visitors arrived last Friday and left for home Thursday (yesterday). |
