Described by his partner as a miserable old man, Perry is the more vocal of the two. "My partner, Alan Anderson managed Fuller Paint; we bought it and continued the operation. The original store was across the street Anderson have been in business for 21 years on Center Street. "And we plan on being here until the town folds," says Perry. They own Provo Art and Paint on 200 W Center. Not only is it a long time for a retail business to survive successfully on Center Street, with its changing market, but it is also a long time to survive a partnership. "That's because we treat it like a marriage; we get along better than a marriage," said Perry. "That's a bunch of manure," said Anderson. Perry smiles. "Yeah, as long as I get my way, we're fine. Seriously, we have to take and give a Jim Perry and Alan "Today the emphasis has changed from paint to art supplies, frames, and furniture." little." from the old J.C. They carry 3,000 ready-mad- e frames in stock and have 500 to 600 different moldings for custom made frames. Their Grand Opening for the new addition will be sometime in late August or early September. Aside from the quality and specialization of the shop, one notica-bl- e trait about the. business is personalized service. Many customers seem to come in just to chat with the owners. They know and fill their customers needs. "If we don't have it we will get it for them," said Perry. Part of the store's appeal is in the sarcastic humor that fills the shop.
