Perry said. Jay Pintacuda, chief chemist for the Palm Beach County sheriff's office, said today that "significant amounts" of cocaine and Demerol, a narcotic sedative, were identified in blood, urine and gastic juice samples. The chemist would not elaborate on the amount of drugs found in Kennedy's body. ; "We've identified the drugs and what we have to do now is quan- tify them," Pintacuda said. "Let's just say that certainly we have found significant amounts." He said there was no trace of alcohol in the body. ; Pintacuda also said 1.3 grams of cocaine, "about 70 percent pure," were found in Kennedy's hotel room.
