Much to WHAT'S producer in TV particularly if it happens to be the name of a prospective star in a series . . . Thus it hap-pened that an actor thoroughly grounded in his craft and bear-ing the unactorish name of Fred Eisely, won the stellar role of private investigator Tracy Steele in ABC-TV'- s new "Hawaiian Eye" series and promptly had his name changed to Anthony Eisley by Warner Bros. TV executive producer William Orr. "It was something of a com-promise," says Eisley now. "I agreed that 'Fred' doesn't have much rhythm to it, and Mr. Orr came up with the 'Anthony' . . . He agreed that my last name had become something of a fixture in the theatre" . . . So Anthony Eisley signed a contract and, forthwith joined other members of the troupe in a flight to Hawaii for location shooting A3 Fred Eisely he has appeared in some 200 live and filmed TV shows as well as a number of Broadway and Chicago stage pro-- , ductions . . . Two seasons of sum-mer stock followed and then he received his first real break when he was cast In the touring company of "Mr. Roberts." Beautifully shaped heads are rarely mentioned as an asset, but a famous actress clipped her hair short to reveal it and now keeps the hair cropped.
