He was invited into the state by a private organization to battle a Planned Parenthood clinic in West Jordan. He said Sheidler uses "direct confrontation" methods to try and close abortion and Planned Parenthood clinics. FAPP members said Sheidler "talks" clients out of using abortion or birth control him from picketing an Illinois Planned Parenthood office. The activist was invited to Utah by Families Against Planned Parenthood (FAPP), a group which has picketed a newly opened birth control clinic in West Jordan. services. Incident On Videotape May Be - A SALT LAKE CITY (UPI) former Salt Lake County jailer claims a videotape shows the start of an incident last year in which a Catholic priest was allegedly abused in the jail drunk tank. But the jailer's allegations have raised questions because an available videotape shows what happened in the jail booking area and not the drunk tank. Former jailer Joseph Wunk said he was working in the jail's booking area last April 30 when a Catholic priest was brought in by a Utah Highway Patrol trooper for driving under the influence of alcohol. Wunk admitted he participated in an incident in the drunk tank in which three people allegedly stood on the back of the handcuffed priest while he was searched. But the full incident described by the former jailer apparently was not recorded on videotape because there are no cameras in A tape recording made in the booking area reportedly does show a jailer forcing the priest's head against a plexiglass window. It also shows the jailer wrestling the to floor and kneeling on Eriest the after the priest resisted removal of his crucifix. The priest, who was cited for driving while intoxicated, was re- leased to local Catholic officials without being booked. A Salt Lake Catholic Diocese spokesman said the priest cannot be contacted for comment because he is participating in an alcohol rehabilitation project out of state. "Things are done. to inmates that aren't necessary," Wunk said.
