Mrs. Shepherd is presently president of Network Publications and editor of "Network" magazine published in Salt Lake City with Western States distribution. Women in Communications Inc. is a national organization with a membership of over 10 000 professional of Salt Lake County Social Services. She chaired the Governor s Conference on "Integrating Women into the Work which was conducted last November. She has taught English at East High School Salt Lake City, and also at Bremerton Junior College in Washington State and American Place" communicators. Mrs. Shepherd represented the Utah Chapter of WICI in the awards competition. Formerly of Provo. she graduated from University of Utah and received a master's degree in English from BYU. Following graduation she married Vin- cent P. Shepherd also of Provo. Prior to joining "Network" she was director of continuing education at ) University of Cairo in Egypt She will accept her "Woman of Achievement" award at the WICI Far West Regional Conference in San Francisco on Saturday April 3. Matheson is honorary chairman of the Utah Council of Volunteers a statewide organization of people helping people as that 'volunteers con- tributes over $108 million to the state annually. Funds earned by the volunteers does not include religious volunteer service. During the luncheon, three local Outstanding Volunteer Awards will be given by the conference committee. "We are requesting nominations of individuals who have improved the quality of life through helping others," said Thelma Jones of Commerce executive director.
