Both teams scored a run in the eighth inning to send the game into its second extra inning with the score tied at Jacobs singled and went to second when the runner ahead of him was thrown out at third and Page came through with a base hit to center field to score Jacobs from second. We have those standards and we have people with ability and it enhances the product." Tony LaRussa, manager of the Chicago White Sox and invariably himself, believes a dress code need not necessarily be the paramount issue in running a ballclub. "I've always taken that rule with a grain of salt," said LaRussa. "I have a rule. It's 'Run to first base.' I'd rather have that rule and enforce it.
