Overhead expenses are eliminated when funds are processed through exisiting church channels, which permits the entire tax deductible donation to be tunneled into the welfare, disaster relief, medical and educational projects that Adventists support in 190 countries. Funds are also used locally in projects such as "Heartbeat," a clinic designed to detect problems with cholesterol and others; the Five-da- y Stop Smoking Plan; a local conditioning program, designed to help participants overcome improper health habits, and various charitable projects such as personal con door-to-do- com- munities he was able to see God's lc- - soothe the pain of alienation and help people to claim their rightful dignity and justice in an indifferent world. "Utah County residents have, in the past, been very generous with their donations and good wisnes," Cook said. "We hope to not only reach our monetary goal, but to meet as many of our neighbors as possible and to be of service to everyone in need that can be helped."
