Show Changes Mark Prep Athletic Scene Tie year 1972 marks a great change in the high school athletic structure of Utah County. Many old traditions have been broken up and new traditions will begin taking will no longer be competing on a league basis with their neighboring schools in the valley. Instead, Provo and Crem will be competing with five teams from the Salt Lake Valley. Those teams include Kearns, Murray, Brighton, Granger, and Hillcrest. All those schools are more comparable with Provo and Or em in enrollment figures and it should make for a more equitable competitive situation. With Provo and Orem leaving, what has been a ten team league place. The Utah High School Activities Association realigned the state's high schools on a more equitable competitive basis, and the change had a significant effect on the schools in this area. Provo and Or em, the two largest schools in the valley, Involving the high schools of this has reduced the league sirs and has allowed for more prp,ctice football games than has been the rule in the past. The league seasons don't begin until Sept. 15 for Region Four and not until Sept. 22 for Region Sis. Region Six will start the season this Friday with a novel Prep Carnival in which all eight teams of the league will appear at the BYU Stadium at 7:30 p jn. Salt Lake City came to Suntana several weeks ago and turned in one of the best races ever seen in Utah County.
