Dr. I'ank 011 TheVirginia Knleryrvie tells the following good joke on Ir. Banks in connection with the recent risit of Mr. Hayes and party to Nevada, which is too good to let pass. Dr. MeKeiuie left Keno on the train with the Presidential party. and himself neated near u young lady, concluded that she was one ul. the party, and probably Miss Slier-manIn passing up through True, kee meadows, Steamboat valley and Washoe valley the doctor pointed out and discoursed upou all objects of interest, as Steamboat springs, the wood-flumand the like. In Washoe valley the Bowers mansion was pointed out anil a detailed history of the former owners given, ill this was attentively listened to and finally, as the train was running along up through Eaglt valley, the doctor asked the young lady some question about the east. "The East," d " I am not from the young lady the East. I reside in Keno. The young lady was Miss Gerty Hatch of Reno, who has lived in that town nearly all her life, and who has been perfectly familiar from childhood with all the scenes and subjects so eloquently enlarged upon by the doctor- - Upon learning that he had been carrying bushels and bushels whole shiploaps of coals to Newcastle, the doctor's jaw fell, and durof the trip ing the remainder retraced he sadly and silently his way along the thread of his late discourse, unpleasantly conscious that in some places he had thrown in a little more romance than was likely to be appreciated in the home about '1 o'clock 11 runaway i:curred in thi city that occasioned " :viui. severe iniuiy to two persons-- ami WI,tkrwtnUiUf OLOilNB; SOam. probably fatal results to an aged fa Mlltkiuil tfcaKa.t 5 0u kit Uk aad ta.
