It struck tbe premises of Mr. James Burt just as be was entering the bouse with a bucket of water. Tbe bouse is ot legs with shingle roof, and it was knoeked over on ta Mr. Burt. His wife and four children were in the house and were completely buried by the snow and debris. Ilia hay stacks, two cows and gome other cattle were carried away two hundred yards. Mrs. Graham was tbe first to see the disaster, and gave such an alarm that her screams were heard a mile distant. Several persons ran to the scene of the accident and succeeded in rescuing Mr. Burt whose forehead was firigbtfully cut. They dug into the slide and brought out Mrs. Burt, badly injured in the head and lower part of tbe body she was expecting to be confined in about a month. A little child about two years old was found unhurt. A boy about six years old was rescue!, hurt, but not seriously. A boy, tbe sen of Mr. John Field, abeut tea years old, who kad gone to the house en an errand, was also dug out, but he is very seriously injured. A lit tle girl, four year old, was still missing when Mr. Ferrin left last evening for medical assistance. Tbe people of Eden, tbe nearest settlement, about three miles and a half distant, turned out as soon as word of tbe calamity reached them and broke a road to Liberty. They will work until the child is found and all articles worth sav ing are recovered, and will bring the family to Eden far proper care and at tention.
