The following from a Georgia paper, is a very simple and harmless remedy that terrible diseaso, consumption, which has taken so many bright and beautiful ones prematurely to the tomb. IVe publish the recipe for the consideration of the public, knowing nothing personally of its effects or its value. 'Having seen much suffering from consumption, and knowing that thous ands of dollars are yearly spent by in valids traveling for their health, and on medicines and physicians, we propose a simple recipe by which patients may become their own physicians ; and, if not too far gone, will guarantee a perfect cure if mudo and regularly taken The ingreaccording to directions. dients are, hoarhound, mullen and molasses, ingredients that are within reach f all, mullen growing wild in every garden, and the molasses can be had at every grocery store. The directions for making are to take a large handful uf hoarhound and boil as strong a tea as possibly can be made. Take up and boil an equal quantity of mullen in the same way. Take a teaspoonful of each of this tea of mullen and hoarhound, and mix together in a suitable vessel ; then add a cupful of mo'asses and stew to a syrup the quicker the better. Take a three times a day. Be particular iu following directions as to making, and also to taking it, and we will guarantee relief in all cases not too far advanced. The writer does not claim this recipe as original with himself, but has recommended it in many cases with good results. As the ingredients are so common and so easily obtained, it is best not to make more than a quart at a time, particularly in warm weather, as tho fresher it is the better effect will be produced. Papers in the country will confer a blessing on this, alas I too numerous class North, South, East and West by publishing the abova recipe." A striking illustration of this fact was witnessed in a car on the Harlem railroad the other day, where a married couple, who manifestly held to the most advanced theories in regard to the equality of the sexes, attracted no little atten tion by their practical exemplification of their belief. The lady, who was of stern and determined aspect, was giving her undivided attention to the perusal of a copy of the Itevolution, while her meek looking husband took the entire charge of an aotive and somewhat troublesome infant. Dur ing the trip, circumstances rendered it necessary to make a partial change of the baby 8 wardrohe, whereupon the father produced from a satchel the necessary article 01 mianttie wear, ana, to the infinite amusement of his fellow passengers, and especially to the undis euised delight of the ladies who ob served his movements, proceeded to prove himself adequate to the emergency, with an adroitness and skill that plainly indioated careful and practice.
