I left Providence on Monday Morning after I was in Ogden, and had quite a difficult task in getting through the Logan Canyon. There was a little snow in Cache Valley when we left, and we found it deeper as we went along. It was very light at first; but it grew harder as it grew deeper. At Rick's Springs, the snow was ten or eleven inches and about five miles further, where we camped the first night, it was fifteen inches deep. On Tuesday we made but about ten miles and the snow was two feet and a half, our teams very much jaded and very little feed for them. On leaving Providence we expected to meet teams about half vay to help us tfirough, but not meeting them we pushed on although not fully picpar-e- d for the through trip. We had now before us the deepest snow and for about six miles, so we counselled together and determined to take asleep and then make our way to the settleand send cattle ments on horse-bacwe accomwhich all of for our wagon, The following letter from A. IN 1R47, THE INVENTOR, ONE Eaiinscheidt, was sitting idly in his In his work, as a mechanic, hindered beiiiK room, by a rheumatic complaint in his hand, from which he had suffered scveruly, and which had greatly prostrated his entire system. To reoeive the full benefit of tho warm sunshine, ho had sat down near the window, with his sick band on the table, wheu a swarm of musquitoes Bottled down on it, and quenched tlier detestable desire, as he was unable to keep them off. But lo! Hardly had they loft, when a great change hud taken place with his sick hand. With the departure of the musquitoes the great paiu of rheumatism had departed at tho same time. As a deep thinker and close observer of all changos aud events in nature he saw, without doubt, what made this sudden and great change. The mueeuitoe had taught him the secret, "how, in a very simple and natural way, to extract the contracted matter and causes of disease out of any sick or affected part of thtthumau body without paiu or loss of blood." He observed that by the stings of the musquitoes into the outer skin the small jiores or hides wero small enough not to irrituto the blood in its circulation, but yet large enough to penetrate the smallest arteries and veins, aud so relieve aud clear all obnoxious secretions. Upon this, he constructed an Instrument to make, like the above, artiticial pores. But not it, he first practiced Uing familiar with the use ofwas therewith upon himself, and greatly surprised at its wonderful effect, as it had given warmth to his whole body. Hut now there was something else to be found out, namely, a substance equal to that which the niusquitoe had left behiud to keep, as he thought, said pores open. After a great he did find an oil, by him many experiments called "OLEUM BAUNSCHEIUTTI." And the Instrument "DERMATOBIOTIKON," (Life or (Lifewakor). senComplete as it now was, he created such a sation throughout the country with this wonderful curutive, which, by the number of patients that came to him, made his whole premises almost look like a hospital. lu ISM, it wus officially and anthorativcly adopted by the Prussian Government, and also recognized and acknowledged by some of the highest medical authorities,C. among which, especiIlerm Schaueiiburg, ally is to lie mentioned, M.D., of Godshurg, near Bonn, a man free from stereotvped opinions, and at that time President of the University of Bonn, who pronounced und called it tho "Egg of Columbus."
