The traditional Christmas lighting display, featuring some 215,000 tiny lights in the trees and shrubs and along the walks and walls of the Square, began with a formal ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, 1983, marked the The. ceremony formal beginning of the holiday season activities, which will include concerts by the Mormon Latter-da- Tabernacle Choir, the Mormon Youth Symphony and Chorus, the Salt Lake Oratorio Society, numerous choruses from area high schools and other organizations, plus organ recitals and movies. The Carolers & Brass section of the Youth Mormon Symphony, under the direction of C. Robert Bowden, music for the the provided lighting ceremony which was conducted on the plaza of the North Visitors Center. That same evening, Nov. 25, the movie, "Mr, ., Krueger's Christmas," starring James Stewart and the Tabernacle Choir, was shown at 7 p.m. in the North Visitors Center, and will then be shown continuously throughout the balance of the Christmas season. There will be a variety of concerts in the Assembly Hall and the North Visitors Center, all sponsored by the General Activities Committee of the Church. Concerts will be held each night from Nov. 30, including the regular Friday and Saturday Temple Square concert series in the Assembly Hall and performances by a variety of organizations in both y - made-for-televisi- : '..
