Show All Roads Lead To Park in Saturday A.M. X What child would refuse a pony ride? And what adult would not want to witness a serious water fight? These will be available in opportunities Midvale's city park during Harvest Days. The park activities start at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday', August 13. The parade and half marathon end in the vicinity of the park at about the same time. This lovely area with open spaces and shady retreats will provide food, games, groups and individuals will sell food, drinks, snow cones and candy. A number of game booths will challenge skills. In addition, the annual fire department water fight will take place at the and entertainment. Civic park. This is a spirited competition among the fire departments of Midvale, Murray, Sandy, and Riverton. There will be three events in the water fight. involves a barrel One event suspended on a cable. The object is to push the barrel to one side of the cable, using the strong spray of water to push it. Of course, the opposing team is trying to do the same thing simultaneously. To complicate things, each team must go ' through a specific series of actions before getting the water flowing in the lines.' The second water fight event is called "make and break." The firemen must get into their clothes, roD out the hose, couple it up, connect the nozzle, charge the line, knock over a bucket with a spray of water, disconnect the lines, and get out of their turnout clothes. The third and new event requires the participants to carry filled buckets up a ladder in order to fill a 55 gallon drum which is ten to twelve feet off the ground. The first team to fill the drum is the winner. The Harvest Days park activities will provide fun and entertainment from 11:00 into afternoon on Saturday.
