Show 100 Entries Expected In Parade Royalty, horses, glitter, flowers, pretty girls, batons, bands! All these, and more will be part of the gala parade on Saturday morning during Harvest Days. The parade begins at 10 a.m. at the y parking lot on 7200 South, proceeds south on State Street to Center Street, continues west on Center to Locust St., and north on Locust to the city park. Chairman, Randy Ross expects many Ernst-Safewa- , large floats, bands, drill teams, .and horse groups among the one hundred entries. There will be royalty from the American Fork, Draper, county, Riverton, Sandy, and West Jordan. Many businesses will be represented as well as the major and city council SATURDAY AUGUST 13, 1983 members of Midvale. Religious and civic groups will have entries. The Grand Marshall this year is Don Lind, NASA astronaut who was bom and raised in Midvale. Awards will include cash prizes for the best business, junior and senior horse group, religious, civic, and baton-dri- ll team entries. Trophies will go to the best band and the Mayor's Choice winner. A new category will see a cash prize go to the best decorated sanitation outfit assigned to follow horse groups. will The be parade winners announced at the city park. At that time other festivities will begin in the park area. Both singles and doubles matches will be played. Center Street The entry fee for singles: 16 and under is $1.00; for singles 17 and over is $2.00; and for doubles is $2.00 per team.
