Show 17. J. ittcrttbt robbed J bycunmcn V) West Jordan police are looking for two men who allegedly held up a small market late Friday afternoon. The two escaped with an undetermined amount of cash and checks. Witnesses say that the two entered the store located at 7750 S. 3200 W.( at about 1:40. The first suspect made a phone call and then they both left. The two returned about 4:30. The second suspect had a gun and ordered the owner of the store and a customer to crawl on their hands and knees to the back room. He then tried to open the cash register and when he couldn't do it, ordered the owner to do it for him. Four other customers entered the store during the robbery. They were also ordered to go back to the back room and lie down. No one was hurt. 11 Hn Sydaey TImms, a swote" grade ttacher at Edg aawat Oennrtarf Scboal, bat bata salaried as tfct Jsrdaa District Teacher af the Keata aj the Kidvale Kraraais dab aad tka Jardaa EdaciSea rata aictare are George Msckai. eiecative director af the JU. Mrs Vella C. (Dr. J. 0.) Jones, chairman of the Historical Society, made the anouncement of the price reduction this week following a 1980-8- 1 to meeting of the group at which the lower price was voted. Mrs Jones said that sales of the book have been brisk, allowing the society to meet its publication costs without financing problems, and the group agreed to continue the price in order to gain as wide circulation of the book as possible. Moses Samowitz, and Richard Vincent supported the changes, while Donald Norton ob- jeetcd. saying area residents should be coasulted first, and Carl H. Snow abstained. Midvale will have a modified Christmas parade this year it was announced by Councilman Norton. Instead of one long parade on a specific route. Santa, accompanied by a fire truck and a sound truck, will traverse every street in the city at around 10 a.m. on Dec. 8. He will use the sound truck to encourage people to attend the city Christmas party at the city hall, which is scheduled to begin at a.m. The Jordan School District Board of Education will meet Tuesday, Nov. 27, for what appears to be a short meeting if agenda items are any indication. The school board will hear a review of the progress being made in the Middle School Program, determine a request for an extension from the state board of education for the competency-basegraduation requirements, and the disposition of the Lark Elementary School building. few schools will continue to have enrollments slightly over capacity next year. However, Clegg said that with the proposed boundaries the fastest growing areas in the southeast and west will have room for expansion, while schools on the north and northeast will remain full even though enrollments may experience a slight decline. The proposed boundaries are expected to eliminate the need for any more major changes in middle schools for the next few years. Meetings will be scheduled with members of the school community groups at each school where major changes are to be made. The district administrators will explain the plans for boundary changes and answer any questions which parents may have regarding the proposal. The board of education is expected to take action on the middle school boundary lines at the Dec. 11 board meeting. Police and fire department dispatchers will be getting a five percent pay boost beginning on Dec. 1. The council gave its approval to the motion after concern was voiced that Midvale paid the lowest of any comparable city in the area and was in danger of losing some of its most experienced help.
