The relatively minor male coup has taken place in the women's gymnasium at Jordan High, where Doug Berry, the Beetdiggers' head football coach, has taken over the task of directing the school's women's varsity basketball program. "When we started," continued Berry, "most of the girls didn't know what I meant by the 'key,' making it tougher to explain the three second rule. Once I told a player that she traveled so bad the next time she should take a suitcase, and all I got was giggles." While Berry feels he's been accepted by the players, he's still unsure about the other coaches around the area, all of whom he's faced have been women. "I don't know if they play like that all the time," pondered Berry, "but, they've shown me no mercy. Before and after the game they're very friendly, but out on the court.
