The Sandy City Fire Department, Sandy City Police Department, and Sandy Fire Auxiliary are sponsoring a babysitting clinic to be held the fourth week of every month on Tuesdays, 7 p.m. to 9p.m.; Thursdays, 7 p.m. to9 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 12 noon, at the Sandy Fire Station, 1220 E. 94(H) S. on May 24, 26. and 28. The fire department teaches fire safety, exits, and first aid, including artificial respiration, what to do in the case of bleeding, poisons, and (the Heimlich choking Maneuver). The Police Department teaches security of the home, phone safety, and emergency action in case of pranksters and vandals. The fire auxiliary teaches about the care of children from infants to school age, courtesies, accident prevention, and also includes ideas for making a babysitting kit to take when babysitting. It will cost a dollar per girl to help cover the cost. Certificates will be given.
