A portion of the Winberg property, plat of which was approved two weeks before, was formal'y annexed to the city, permitting immediate construction of a sewer line to serve the southeast portion of Midvale city. The fence ordinance,, regulating the height of fences of various types, and also of hedges and shrubbery, was adopted as drawn up by Atty. Ben G. Bagley according to decisions reached at a series of council discussions at previous meetings. The ordinance is designed to meet esthetric requirements . . . An engineer's map of the access road to serve businesses south of Sugar St. was studied and approved by the council. This road will go east from N. Main St. just south of the Bowl, and east of the bleachers will curve northward, occupying about Wacre of bowl property, before crossing the railroad tracks to serve Mineral Ferti'izer and Utah Oil warehouses. The city, as owner of the Kiwanis Bowl property, will receive $1,500 from the state as payment for the property. Acceptance of the map and the state's offer is contingent upon approval by the Kiwanis Club, which leases the ground but has never made use of that portion of the area. Turning off of four ornamental street lights at the intersection of Jefferson and Lineo'n St. with E. Center St. brought objection from a number of home owners in the area, who pointed out that this ornamental light system was paid for and installed by property owners in the subdivision, who hold a contractual agreement in perpetuity that the city maintain the system and pay for the lighting. Cost of operating the four lights was reported at $10 a month. The council agreed ..
