West and A Jordan woman was injured last r collision at 7800 Tuesday in a two-ca- South State St., according to police reports. The victim was apparently trying to make a right-han- d turn off 7800 onto State when her car was struck from behind by another vehicle. But before she could exchange any information, the car drove away. She did, however, get its license plate number police are currently trying to track down a possible suspect. A Sandy youth was reportedly assaulted by an unidentified male suspect while the victim was riding his bike along Wasatch St. Saturday. The victim told police that a car stopped suddenly and a blond-haire- d man in his early twenties got out. The suspect knocked the youth down the punched him in the mouth. Police here ar- rested four juveniles for truancy and possession of a controlled substance last week near Bingham high. Officer Carl Dinger spotted the students emerging from a corn field near the school. Drug paraphernalia and marijuana was confiscated from the youths. The four were referred to juvenile court. Burglars broke into a car parked near 2500 W. 10000 South and stole a wallet with checks and cash totaling DRAPER. (Thursday) Draper elementary's boys and their fathers will be participating in a father and son night. Beginning at 6 p.m. they will rotate to different events including a bike rodeo obstacle course, bike registration, a bike safety movie and dinner. I attended Utah State University on an athletic scholarship and graduated with a degree in political science and a teaching certificate. Basketball letterman and AAU boxing champion. I was a school teacher from 1966 to 1972 and received a KSL teacher award in 1969. Currently I work as an electronics technician and operate a fur farm. I was recognized by the Utah School Baord Assn. for attending 100 percent of all school board meetings during the 8 years on local school board. I have worked on many community projects including the original West Jordan Park where many national boxing bouts and rodeos have been held. I coached and sponsored recreation teams. Umpired several years without pay for little league baseball. Lifetime scouter and have been a member of the same scout troop (125). I am the father of three children. I am concerned about the future of West Jordan. The future is at a crossroad. Is it urban sprawl or are we going to keep some country atmosphere. Established residents should be involved in decisions. Our area needs stability and public confidence.
