Show SUNDAY HERALD Starch Will SUNDAY, JUNE Utah County. Utah Keep Summer Baby Traveling Clothes Pert Need Nor Be 3A 1961 4, . .J t i I w in i , ah i'li'tr ..... . ills ' 1 NsMjMj Summer is a 'cummin in, bring ing with it hot, hot days and the pretty girls are once again wearing pretty cotton dresses. Will they look as "pretty after many washings? They will . if properly washed, starched and ironed. Why bother to starch a dress? In the first place, modern starch makes it no bother at all. In the second place, a lightly starched dress looks prettier, is cooler to wear,, and is more wrinkle and dirt resistant. Reason enough, it would seem to starch it every time it's washed. Efficient laundering requires hot water, at least 140 degrees F., and a good detergent. Many modern detergents 'have a built-ifabric brightener. These lessen the need for a bleach and eliminate any need for blueing: how ever, bleaches do aid in removing heavy soil. Now for the easy way to starch for this the washing machine does all. ,tlie work, during the boxful final rinse. One of instarjt cold water starch, add ed to the tub as the water flows in, gives a crisp, but not suit, 'new" finish to the entire average washer load. Wonderful for cur tains, aprons, shirts and handkerchiefs, as well as dresses. After starching, allow the ma chine to complete its cycle. Dry the dresses until just nicely damp. Roll up in plastic or a towel and set aside for at least an hour before ironing. Iron carefully; on the wrong side, except for final touchups of details, and hang Up, without crowding, to complete drying of inner seams and double (thicknesses and there you are, pretty as new, r 7f 1 Traveling with a small baby need not be tiresome when mother relies on modern helpers she can get in her local store. With a few of today's product improvements, a jaunt by car, plane, bus or train can be made much . , it Tiresome For Mom easier. Here are tips for easing mothjob of caring for baby while traveling.
