The meeting was in the form of an autumn membership "Kickoff." Decorations carried our the theme with football gear and autumn leaves spilling from football shoes. Mrs. Leland Nielsen, president, greeted the members and welcomed the vdsitors to the group. Four study groups convened after dinner .Mrs. Melvin J. Arrington led the discussion for the Home Arts group with the theme : of - "Cutting a Figure in Your Community.'' Mass Media and its effect in a community especially on children and youth was discussed by the Mass Media study group. Discussion was led by Mrs. , W. Smoot Brimhall.- The group chairman is Mrs. Marian Brandley. The Social and Economic Issues study group continued in a study of library problems in Provo, and plans to study the Civil Rights issue during the year.
